I'm an 'e-mini' trader; have been since early 2002. I recognized how valuable learning to trade them would be right off the bat, but I had no idea what it would mean IF a drastic downturn in the economy (like this DEPRESSION) were to come along. Learning that I can make money in the stock market whether the market goes UP or DOWN was exciting; that I could do it FASTER, with less RISK and at a far higher ROI than I ever saw investing in or even trading stocks, made me an 'e-mini trader' ….for life!

Then, September 2008 came along, then October…November…December…even January and a new year—yet the market was still going LOWER! Even a 1,000 point drop in the DOW in a single day—something that had never happened before in history!

I was invited to a 3-day seminar in San Francisco (Nov 1-3, 2008) for established stock day traders, traders making their living day trading stocks on their home computers. The seminar was hosted by Golden Gate University and TradeGuider, one of the foremost trading systems developed several years ago for the newly-emerging market of ‘e-mini’ traders. TradeGuider hopes to attract more stock day traders to its great trading software. Most good chart-reading (software) systems can be used to trade any of the stock market’s many financial instruments, besides stocks. Ask any e-mini trader and they’ll tell you that nothing (especially, stocks) even comes close to the advantages of trading the e-mini.

Most of us start out in life thinking that the Stock Market is:

1) Some mysterious place where the rich people gamble; then…

2) When we learn a little about it…. we see it as a place where we can put some of our money and it has a chance to grow (over time);

3) Even though our money is always ‘at risk’ in stocks, still the stock market produces better than a bank savings account or CD ever does. (Usually, that is.)

When you were a kid in school, and even through college, were you ever taught anything about the stock market other than the bare essential of ‘investing for the long haul’?

Most of September, 2008 has been a …….well, I hate to use the word 'remarkable'…..but, that's what it's been. My heart really aches for those folks who have their 'dreams' tied up in stocks and mutual funds. While the market has been causing them sleepless nights (and days), we e-mini traders have ……. well, it's a fact… been doing very well. In fact, some of the best trading days we've ever seen! A whole month's income in a day, several times. I thought I would never see another day like July 24, 2002, a day the DOW rose 489 points. It was a banner day for me, even as a new neophyte e-mini trader.

Any experienced e-mini trader will tell you that trading 'e-minis' is the simplest, easiest,  safest and fastest way to make money in the stock market. The e-mini offers the 'most bang for the buck' of any financial instrument. Even experienced stock traders, once they discover it, many readily change to e-minis.

Six mistakes authors who write about the stock market all too often seem to make, are:

1) Assuming their reader already knows a lot;

2) Use terms and words the reader does not [yet] understand;

3) They, (maybe without even realizing it) write to display their own vast intelligence—their ego factor;

4) They forget what it was like 'not to know' every term;

5) They forget what it was like when they were just starting out;

6) And, they forget how confusing it is if things aren't laid out exactly and clearly.
