<![endif]-->I'm an 'e-mini' trader; have been since early 2002. I recognized how valuable learning to trade them would be right off the bat, but I had no idea what it would mean IF a drastic downturn in the economy (like this DEPRESSION) were to come along. Learning that I can make money in the stock market whether the market goes UP or DOWN was exciting; that I could do it FASTER, with less RISK and at a far higher ROI than I ever saw investing in or even trading stocks, made me an 'e-mini trader' ….for life!

Then, September 2008 came along, then October…November…December…even January and a new year—yet the market was still going LOWER! Even a 1,000 point drop in the DOW in a single day—something that had never happened before in history!

Had I left my 'retirement dreams' invested in stocks in my mutual fund, I would be sitting here today looking at a 41% loss in value. (And, they say that the worst isn't over yet.) But, enough of that; there is (and can be) a much brighter side to this story, and I'd like to share a brighter thought or two with you.

We learned in our youth that " we …must be the captain of our own ship." How grateful I am to a young lady (actually a stranger), who asked me (another stranger) if I knew about trading e-mini's? My response was: "What's an 'e-mini'?"

I had been active in the stock market all of my adult life…investing a little here, a little there as I could afford to, but I had never even heard the word 'e-mini' before meeting her.

What she told me in a very brief conversation about how she makes money in the stock market, set me on a whole new life-changing course. I immediately closed my little business I'd run successfully (making a decent living) for over 25 years, so I could devote my full attention to learning how to trade e-mini's. I invited my employees to follow me. I've never looked back. I will forever be grateful to her for asking a stranger …if he knew about trading e-minis.

Now, I'm that stranger….asking you if you know about trading e-mini's? Whether you've ever heard the word before, (most folks still haven't!), or even if you are a stock day trader, and especially, if you are an investor, agonizing over the present state of your portfolio, would it inspire you if I tell you that we e-mini traders have had the best, most profitable trading conditions since last September that have ever been known in the history of the stock market? Yes, in deed!

We're a very conservative bunch: we don't take much risk and we know how to manage well even what risk we do take. We look at e-mini day trading as just a nice safe little 'home business' that we can do on our laptop…trading a couple of hours each morning.

Doesn't take much money: Minimum $2,000 to open a trading account, but I recommend keeping $10,000 in your account…so you can take advantage when market days like we've seen recently come along. We normally concentrate on just 'grinding out' an average of $500 a day for oneself–doing 2-3 trades each morning; but, recently we've had days when we made an entire month's income goal in single days—several times!

VOLATILITY…and especially, wide ranging volatility is why e-mini trading has been so profitable– whether the market is going UP or DOWN.

As I said in the beginning—I never would have even dreamed that such BAD times could also be such GOOD times. There truly is a 'silver lining' in this present BLACK, ominous cloud that's hanging over the stock market.

This stranger would like to do for you now…what that lady did for me back in early 2002. There's a ton of FREE information for you should you care to visit http://www.EminisBeatStocks.com The only thing there that I'm selling is my book that I've designed to be a 'road map' for anyone wanting to follow in my footsteps.

Any questions? Please post them along with any comments, here on my blog.

I was invited to a 3-day seminar in San Francisco (Nov 1-3, 2008) for established stock day traders, traders making their living day trading stocks on their home computers. The seminar was hosted by Golden Gate University and TradeGuider, one of the foremost trading systems developed several years ago for the newly-emerging market of ‘e-mini’ traders. TradeGuider hopes to attract more stock day traders to its great trading software. Most good chart-reading (software) systems can be used to trade any of the stock market’s many financial instruments, besides stocks. Ask any e-mini trader and they’ll tell you that nothing (especially, stocks) even comes close to the advantages of trading the e-mini.

I was invited as a guest of TradeGuider, to mingle at the seminar and help 'spread the word' about e-mini's and the TradeGuider software. Of the 180 traders in attendance, I didn’t find one who was even aware of the ‘e-mini’ let alone how much more advantage e-mini’s offer, as compared to ordinary stocks. It’s amazing, because the e-mini has been around since 1997, yet those who only know [and think] ‘stocks’ have somehow never managed to bump into it. I guess myopic vision really is a common frailty of human nature.

Here’s just a couple of the advantages: To place a trade on a $20 stock you need $20 cash in your account for every share you want to put in your trade; A 1,000 share trade would require $20,000 CASH, plus commissions for your brokerage. You go LONG … and successfully capture a 50 cent per share profit. The trade has produced for you $500 profit. Your ROI = 2.5%

Now, let’s do a trade with e-mini’s. You need $500 cash in your account for each e—mini 'contract' you want to place in a trade, e.g. a 5-contract trade would require $2,500 cash. You go LONG again…and your trade successfully captures 2 points of the S&P 500 Index. Each point is worth $50 per contract. You had placed 5 contracts in the trade (times) the 2 Index points you captured = 10 total points, worth $50 each = $500 profit.

Your ROI on the e-mini trade = 20%! That’s ten times greater! And, you only needed $2,500 verses $20,000 for the stock trade! You could have been in the trade as little as ten minutes. And, you can make profitable trades like this even when the market is going DOWN by going 'short'.

Stocks don’t even come close to e-mini’s when it comes to ‘bang for the buck’. Ask any e-mini trader and they'll tell you that e-mini's offer the fastest, safest, most profitable way and least costly ($$ needed) way to participate in the stock market.

If these numbers catch your interest and you would like to hear more about trading e-mini’s, you’ll find several hours of free information on my web site. Incidentally, there’s a good reason why the public has never heard much about the ‘e-mini’. Mutual fund managers and stock brokers will never tell you anything about e-mini’s because they know you’ll want to do your own trading yourself. The 'e-mini' was designed for first-timers in the stock market, a financial trading instrument that ordinary folks could afford to learn to trade with.

Check it out. Give e-mini trading a shot. You’ll never look back….especially if you are an experienced stock trader.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-L8kSTErib4

Most of September, 2008 has been a …….well, I hate to use the word 'remarkable'…..but, that's what it's been. My heart really aches for those folks who have their 'dreams' tied up in stocks and mutual funds. While the market has been causing them sleepless nights (and days), we e-mini traders have ……. well, it's a fact… been doing very well. In fact, some of the best trading days we've ever seen! A whole month's income in a day, several times. I thought I would never see another day like July 24, 2002, a day the DOW rose 489 points. It was a banner day for me, even as a new neophyte e-mini trader.

But, this month of September, 2008 has seen several days of even greater drastic volatility. Volatility and Volume are the two main market conditions e-mini traders pray for….and we've sure gotten both this month! Even being very cautious and only trading with one 'contract', still what a train ride….with the market going down hill— over 750 DOW points today! Our S&P 500 Market that we trade primarily, moved down over a hundred points! (Those politicians in Washington are really caught behind the '8' ball, aren't they?)

I got completely out of stocks and closed my mutual fund account when I discovered e-mini's back in 2002. Smartest thing I ever did. Today? Yeah, …I'm concerned about our overall economy, but I have faith in America and my fellow countrymen (and, maybe even the politicians, if this is enough to wake them up!). Those corrupt and greedy regulatory and mortgage industry officials who brought this financial crisis to a head, well, let's hope they get sorted out and appropriately punished!

Things will get better. We Americans have faced tougher and more drastic challenges. We will rise above this. And, those 'losses' my friends in stocks and mutual funds have suffered aren't real losses— until [you] SELL.

So, hang in there, America.

I received an interesting magazine (or, maybe better described as a catalogue) in the mail this morning entitled "Home Business Connection". It was apparently sent to me because my name is on some mailing list. Beautifully designed and bearing a price tag of $5.95 per copy, I was tempted to open and read what it was all about. It is mostly full-page ads of 'home business' ideas…one after another, covering every possibility from the proverbial 'stuffin' envelopes' to much more sophisticated endeavors. Of course, each was headlined with bold declarations of being the "world's greatest home business" with promises of getting fabulously rich quick "absolutely guaranteed"! (www.hbcmagazine.com) As I read through some of the ads (many were actually feature articles about certain types of home business), I couldn't help but compare all of them to my 'home business'.

Most were of the conventional type: find a product (usually made by someone else) then set up a way to promote, advertise and market it. Most were centered mainly on MLM or the Internet as the way to get fabulously rich. None bothered though, to explain how difficult it is to build and keep a good MLM 'downline', or, to get traffic to a web site. Made me wonder if those ads were directed to people who've never been 'round the block' at all, those whom it would be easy to put stars in their eyes with a little talk about makin' fabulous money in very short order? But, it is a good collection of home business ideas …for anyone to peruse. www.hbcmagazine.com

My home business is so simple I still have difficulty sometimes believing it myself. I sit down at my home computer each morning, turn on my e-mini trading charts and start watching for a good trade signal. What? You've never heard of an "E-mini"? Well, don't feel bad; I hadn't either ….until early 2002, even though I had been an active trader of stock options for over twenty years by that time. You see…. the 'e-mini' was introduced into the stock market when the Internet and personal computer were really coming into their own…back in 1997, as a trading instrument that average folks could afford to learn to trade, and take active roles in the stock market.

Most folks don't know much about trading; they think you just invest in stocks. That's all that the mutual funds and stock brokers have ever talked about (in their TV commercials and all of their advertising), but, in reality, those guys are not investors themselves…they are traders. But, they convince the rest of us that the smart thing for the public to do is turn all of our 'retirement dreams' over to them and let them manage our 'investments' for us…because they are the "professionals". Meanwhile, they are trading everyday…with their clients' money, but the account managers and the mutual fund company pockets all of the profits. Their clients (in those mutual funds) only get a mutual scr*****!

Oh, the typical mutual fund does realize [on average] about 10-15% appreciation growth of each portfolio per year, but the stock market [itself] —on its own, has historically done that, even through all of the Wars, Great Depression and even with 9-11 thrown in! Makes you wonder if brokers and mutual fund managers are, in reality, worth anything at all!

Anyway, back to the home business I found in trading "E-mini's": I trade a couple of hours each morning, making 3 or 4 trades on my computer and put as my daily average goal about $500 dollars into my pocket. I never get greedy and try to stretch it….even though many days the market easily would let me. Just a nice little daily cash flow generator…that lets me grind out $500 a day, $10 grand a month and $125,000 a year. Not bad, eh? It really is that simple. The market is always there for me….every morning. I don't care whether it is going up (bullish) or down (bearish), I can make money either direction. (Something else those brokers and mutual fund managers will never tell you, or explain to you!) They'll just tell you to bring as much money as you can and be prepared to invest with them for the long haul. 'Hold…and Hope' — that's the best the mutual fund investor has going for him or her.

If you've been thinking about or looking for a little home business idea that can generate a little extra cash flow for yourself, you'll enjoy checking out trading "E-mini's". (www.emini-forex-trader.com) Don't bother to call up a mutual fund manager and ask him or her about it, though. They'll just laugh at you.

A: Besides the obvious — some money, you'll need some time to learn the fundamentals and practice trade (we call it 'paper trading'). Some folks prepare themselves to start trading real money in a few weeks, but I really recommend that no one start until they have about 3-6 months of practice. Along with some money (minimum $5,000 – optimum $10,000), you'll need a good Windows PC with at least two monitors (preferably 3), a high speed Internet connection and the following personal qualities: An open mind; good common sense and average intelligence with the ability [and strong] desire to learn. You must have good Patience and discipline. A good dose of humility, too, will be a great asset. An ego, or traits of stubbornness or thinking you 'know it all' or at least, 'know better' will not lend themselves to your success as a trader. Neither will 'luck'. The only traders I've every seen who were 'lucky' were those who had paid the price for real success. So, with some money and a couple of hours per day…and real desire to succeed, just about anyone can become a successful emini or forex trader.
